In aid of Research Motor Neurone and IMNDA

The Good Run is a charity fun run that has taken place on Good Friday for the last 5 years. Over €84,000 has been raised by The Good Run to date which has gone towards supporting the fight against Motor Neurone Disease. We are asking you to join us in continuing this tradition by accepting our Good Run Challenge this Easter Monday the 13th of April and helping us to raise much needed funds for Research Motor Neurone and IMNDA.

No crowds? No problem!

Get active with us this Easter Monday.

For those of you who can get out and run, The Good Run will be hosted online this year. For those who can’t, you can still get active for MND from your home or garden by joining one of the other events we have organised on Easter Monday.

We could all do with A Good Run, A Good Sweat or A Good Stretch during these times- Join us in any (or all!) of the activities organised this Easter Monday and help support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.

Share a sweaty selfie,  a screenshot of your completed route or a video of how you and the family got active using the hashtag #thegoodrun2020 - this way we can all feel part of the event.

THE GOOD RUN - 5K CHALLENGE

**Please ensure to adhere to the public health  measures in place in your country**

Whether you're running your first ever 5K or aiming to knock time off your PB, join walkers and runners from Skibbereen to the Cooley Mountains, New York to Koh Samui virtually running together to support the fight against MND this Easter Monday. 

For those of you cocooning, why not see if you can build up to a 5K at home or in your garden? That's around 7,000 steps! We’re sure you can come up with plenty of imaginative ways to achieve that goal!

  1. Register online by clicking on the link below and donating to our Everyday Hero page

  2. Download the Nike Run Club app for iPhone or Android 

  3. Create your account and add 'The Good Run' as a friend to be added into the challenge (see 'Using the NRC app' section below for step-by-step directions).

  4. Wait for us to add you to the challenge- Be sure to check the Challenges section of the app for an invitation to 'The Good Run 2020' challenge.

  5. Accept the challenge by clicking on the invitation. You will not have to click back into this challenge on Easter Monday- see below for more details.

Completing the Challenge on Easter Monday

Make sure to log in to the NRC app on Easter Monday. 

Hit the 'Run' tab and press the START button.

Walk, jog or run a 5K route of your choice (within a 2km radius of your home).

The app will register your run (as long as it is completed within the relevant time frame  i.e. Easter Sunday-Easter Monday) and automatically upload details to The Good Run 2020 challenge once you have completed your 5K.

Remember to send us a screenshot of your time and route or share a photo using the hashtag #thegoodrun2020

**Times shown on the leaderboard represent the amount of time it takes you to complete your 5K from when the challenge is live, not the time it takes you to run the 5K - only you will see your time, unless you decide to share it with us.

THE GOOD SWEAT- ONLINE HIIT SESSION @ 10AM

For those looking to get a little sweatier at home, Glen Daly from Daly Exercise will be hosting a live HIIT session on his channel. Sign up and join Glen this Easter Monday at 10am.

 

THE GOOD STRETCH- LUNCHTIME YOGA AND MEDITATION SESSION @ 1PM

A real treat for those who would prefer a calmer, gentler form of activity this Easter Monday. Join Jenny Ní Ruiséil for a traditional Tantric Hatha yoga class using asana, prayana and meditation to realign the mind/body balance.
